My Anniversary

Sunday, my 24th anniversary went much better than Valentine's Day.  Mark woke me with a cheery "Happy Anniversary,"  I had tea, and we went to the 11am mass.

On the way in, I told him, "oh, by the way, you got me a really nice anniversary gift."
"Oh? I did?  Is this what I get for leaving you alone too much while I crawl around in caves?" (grinning)
"Well, you know how I can be left to my own devices."

My ring

After we got home, I showed him the lovely new diamond wedding ring he got me.  Don't worry, I didn't go crazy, they're small diamonds made to look really great by an intricate setting.

When we had our marriage blessed by the church on our 20th wedding anniversary I had looked high and low for a ring, since I'd managed to lose my original plain gold band (it had gotten too tight, and I thought I'd put it in a safe place until I could get it stretched...).  I never really found one, and my mother gave me my grandmother's original plain white gold band, and had a diamond from her original engagement ring mounted on it. (she'd moved up to a diamond you could actually see)  I loved the sentiment, the idea of a three generation ring, but it didn't turn out the way it was supposed to and honestly, I never really "loved" the ring.  I saw this new ring when we were shopping for Thomas's class ring.  Then after much self debate and going back and forth to the store, I finally bought it and put it away for Mark to give me.

After a relaxing afternoon, we went out to the new-ish Thai restaurant.  That was really good.

Then a little TV, then off to bed for a proper anniversary celebration (OH! TMI?)

Anyway, an altogether lovely day.

On being easy...

The problem with being a marshmallow is that you generally get roasted.
