Gee, and I fancied myself a libertarian, leaning toward anarchist. This is what happens when I try to think about everything, and give what i perceive as the "right grownup answer. Maybe I'll take it again, and not be practical and thoughtful, and just give gut reactions.

I came out as a socialist :D I'm almost exactly at the same point as you along the socially permissive scale, but nearly at the bottom of the economically permissive scale.

I think a slightly more nuanced test would give me the same result on social permissiveness but not *quite* so socialist in terms of economics ::laughs::

Yeah, I'm sort of like capitalism the way people used to be about communism (when faced with the Soviet Union as example) -- in it's pure form, done by thoughtful, civilized, long-term planning people, it's ideal. However, human beings being the short-sighted greedy things we are...

BTW, you, I don't know about the other two, but Sudafed comes in both 12 and 24 hour versions if you buy the name brand.

My problem is that I have to be super super careful with Sudafed. First of all, I can only use it in very small doses, or else it gives me horrible panic attacks. And second, if I use it too frequently, it stops working at all. Like, I can't use it during the day at all, I have to save it for nights.

Given those constraints, I've been very nervous about trying a different form/dose/whatever. And usually I'd take ibuprofen or naproxen for pain and fever but they're verboten during pregnancy. Urgl. Oh, and I can't take the only cough medicine that ever helps me, because it has codeine in it.

Basically, it's like doctors and my body sat down to figure out how to make me as miserable as possible. Whee?

Ah yes, the pregnancy whammy. Sorry. Is Musinex allowed? It's sold for coughing, but it's got this drying mechanism that works well for me as a decongestant.

I'm sorry, I know you must get way more unsolicited medical advice than you could possibly handle.

Everyone's trying to help!

I can't tell about Mucinex (which I like because it helps my chest feel less tight). I haven't found a really reputable source and I don't think anyone's really looked at it. ::sigh::
