Really, TV networks, FEWER commercials.  Not less -- that refers to the quality of what we have to watch.

And all you car people, FEWER trips to the gas pump.   Less gas, fewer trips.

If you can count it, FEWER.  If not, LESS.

Less water, fewer drops,
Less rain, fewer storms.
Less food, fewer calories

Amen, sister!!! That one makes me crazy. I remember when that pop song came out "Two Less Lonely People in the World" I was disgusted. It's two FEWER people, and sure it doesn't fit the rhythm, but then choose a different hook! Jeez!

My brain does not understand this. It's beginning to make me feel like algebra is making me feel this semester. If the message gets across, what's the big deal as long as everyone knows what it means? Actually, never mind! I think I'm just making up excuses for not being able to memorize which word goes where. I just remembered that I get SOOO irked whenever anyone uses "is" when "are" should be used. For instance, "There's many reasons why….”
