Pre-Valentine's Day dinner
Feb. 14th, 2010 04:26 pm Mark and I had a perfectly fantastic evening out Friday night, to Surin of Madison (Thai food) with another couple, Philip C. and his fiancee, Heather. She is an absolute hoot. The conversation was lively and fun. I tried a new drink, a plum wine Martini. Whatever else was in it was just enough to cut the over-sweetness of the plum wine without hiding the flavor. I had Ka Proud Lamb, and it was just as delectable as everything else I've ever had at that restaurant. We were there for an unhurried 2 and a half hours. We finally left when they started turning the lights up in the dining room. We came back here to the house and had pie—lemon meringue and apple—and tea and coffee and more great conversation. Mark and I don't do evenings like that, with friends, often enough.
